A TYPICAL ITINERARY

Arriving at Corfu airport you will be taken by taxi directly to Gouvia Marina. (Transfer time is about 10 minutes.) The Marina is modern and well equipped with all necessary facilities. At the jetty you will be met by your crew: your skipper and hostess. They will welcome you aboard the yacht and offer their assistance with things like supplies before you embark on your cruise.

ONE WEEK CHARTER

Day 1: Agios Stefanos, Corfu
Starting from Gouvia Marina we sail 6 miles and anchor in the pretty little bay at Agni. Here you can spend the afternoon swimming or snorkelling. The night will be spent in the sheltered anchorage of Agios Stefanos, a village about 4 miles away on the north-east coast of Corfu.

Day 2: Mourtos, mainland Greece
Today we sail to Mourtos on the Greek mainland, opposite southern Corfu. We stop in one of the numerous little bays around Sivota. After maybe another couple of hours sailing with the afternoon breeze, we will moor up in Mourtos. This is a wonderful place to experience the sunset over Corfu.

Day 3: Lakka, Paxos
Your skipper will take you to one of the most beautiful places in Paxos, the picturesque bay of Lakka, with its clear blue water and small hamlet and harbour huddled around the head of the bay.

Day 4: Gaios, Paxos
We spend the first part of the day on a very special cruise around the west side of Paxos, where there are a lot of caves to explore. Our lunch stop (if the weather is convenient) will be in one of the clear blue water bays on Antipaxos, the small Island just south of Paxos. The night will be spent in Gaios, the main harbour on Paxos. In the summer this is a lively and attractive place.

Day 5: Parga, mainland Greece
Today's sailing will bring you back to the mainland. Parga is one of the most famous places on the coast and you will have an opportunity to visit this lovely village with its historic Venetian castle.

Day 6: Sayada, mainland Greece
Going slowly on our way back to Corfu, we sail along the mainland coast and stop for lunch in one of the numerous beautiful bays. Perhaps the skipper will stop at Arillas Bay, a quiet and relaxing spot. We spend the night in the small fishing harbour of Sayada, the last Greek village before the Albanian border. Alex will welcome you to his taverna on the waterfront where you will eat the tastiest prawns you have ever had.

Day 7: Corfu
Those who like to walk can get up early. There is a very beautiful walk up the hill of Sayada, towards one of the abandoned villages, full of old stones and history. You can admire the great view of Sayada. Sailing back to Corfu, we first stop for lunch and a swim in one of the bays along the coast. After arriving back at the Marina, you can enjoy an evening in Corfu Town or in Kontokali, the village next to the Marina.

Day 5: Preveza, mainland Greece
First we will stop for lunch and a swim around Antipaxos then, taking advantage of the afternoon breeze, we will spend the day sailing down to the south Ionian. We will arrive in Preveza at the end of the afternoon and that evening go out for dinner in one of the tavernas around this typical Greek harbour.

Day 6: Spartakhori, Meganisi
The day will start by sailing down the Lefkas Channel between Lefkas and the mainland. We will stop for a swim and lunch somewhere around Skorpios, the private island of the Onassis family. We will end the day in the small harbour of Spartakhori on Meganisi and have dinner in one of the nicest and typically relaxed Greek tavernas on the shore.

Day 7: Sivota, Lefkas
Before leaving Spartakhori, be sure to walk up to the village, enjoying the beautiful view of Meganisi and the mainland. Your skipper will then sail around Meganisi. The afternoon breeze is often very pleasant here. You will end the day in Sivota - a wonderful spot. The slopes around the bay are planted with olive trees and the village houses are clustered around the water. There are good fish tavernas ashore.

Day 8: Fiskardo, Kefalonia
After your day's sailing you will reach Fiskardo, maybe the most beautiful village in the Ionian. This is a real picture-postcard spot, with its colourful houses around the jetty.

Day 9: Kioni, Ithaki
Another beautiful place will be your destination today. The village of Kioni, on Ithaki, is a gem, with its amphitheatre of houses built around the steep slopes of the bay. You will appreciate its special atmosphere.

Day 10: Kalamos or Kastos
While sailing to Kastos or Kalamos (two islands lying between Meganisi and the mainland) the skipper will anchor in a very special place: "One House Bay". This bay has high cliffs and huge eroded rocks, with a fine beach at its head.

Day 11: Vathi, Meganisi
A relaxing day sailing around the islands of Kalamos and Meganisi, stopping for another swim in blue waters and lunch in a bay. You will spend the evening and night in Vathi, the main village of Meganisi. This is a very pleasant place and there are some fine walks through the olive groves.

Day 12: Parga, mainland Greece
One of the longest sails of our journey, 40 miles, going up the Lefkas channel, with a lunch stop in one of the pretty bays along the mainland coast and maybe a stop for a swim in "Two Rock Bay". This day will also take you to the mainland again and to Parga, one of the most famous places on this coast. You will have the opportunity to visit this very attractive village with its historic Venetian Castle, overlooking the famous bay .
